Machining tools are imperative to the metal forming process, as they are used to shape the raw material typically by cutting, grinding, shearing, boring, or additional forms of alteration. The cutting or shaping tool within the machine is normally controlled or constrained by the machine, allowing the deformation movement to be guided by the machine rather than the process being freehanded. This allows for fewer errors in the process and adds precision to the end product.
